The Pansat 9200 HD FTA receiver is very popular among C-Band and Ku band FTA users. This new DVB-S2 8PSK sub-board allows users to tune into DVB-S2 (8PSK)
commonly called MPEG 4 signals.
Installation of the DVB S2 8PSK module
Remove the top cover of your Pansat 9200HD receiver
with a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the "Tuner 2 IF Out" and "Tuner 2 IF In "cap
from the back panel of the receiver.
Make sure you are not carrying any static electricity
by touching the chassis of your receiver for 2 seconds.
Remove the tuner board from its anti-static bag.
Install the adapter board to the tuner board and
connect all supplied cables to that board.
Tighten the tuner kit to the back panel of the receiver
through the "IF Output" and "IF 2 Input (S2)" opening.
The L shape of the board will make it firm and solid.
Connect the power cable to the power supply (CN3
connector).
Connect the data cables to the main circuit board of
the 9200HD (CH6 and CH7 connectors)
Connect the RF jumper cable to the IF Output and to the
IF2 (S2) Input port on the back of the receiver.
Install the cover on the receiver and tighten all
screws.
Turn on receiver. The DVB-S2 / 8PSK /Pilot ON option in
the Advanced Satellite Scan menu will allow you to scan DVB-S2 / 8PSK
transponders containing free-to-air programming.
Watching DVB S-2
At this writing only C-band is used for transmitting
DVB-S-2.
One should first maximize a few signals on this
satellite. Two good frequencies to use are 3375 H 4444 3/4 Nebraska NET
and 4080 V 32360 3/4 CBS feed in HD .
The set up is for G26 3820 H 29125 3/4 .
The tuner should be set for DVB S-2 /8PSK/Pilot ON. A manual scan yielded 28
Channels.
When using this product or for that matter ANY signal one
rule applies--the stronger signal the better end result. One thing to make is that your dish must be aimed and tuned properly. Many c-band users have older
equipment. It is essential that these old timers need to be checked and tuned.
In many cases best results are obtained by upgrading the LNB and Feed. Over the years trees have grown taller so make sure you are
clearing the trees if not get out the chainsaw !! Do all of this FIRST before
you install the board.
This unit is not for the guy who wants to watch a little
more TV. People using c-band dishes are serious feed hunters who like to use the
Pansat 9200 because of the Blind Search capabilities of the machine. Please ensure that your c-band dish is well tuned, with current LNB's and feeds.
Having committed to the Pansat 9200 HD unit users will
find the DVB S-2 board a useful accessory.
