The Fortec Star MERCURY II satellite receiver provides digital free-to-air satellite reception.

The Fortec Star MERCURY II is a powerful satellite receiver ideal for satellite enthusiast. The receiver has an easy-to-use Menu, yet is feature-rich. It also comes with a comprehensive Power Scan for blind searching satellites. Users can back up their channel list before upgrading the software, and then restore the channel list, all from within the receiver's own menu. The front panel has 8 buttons allowing complete control of the receiver?s functions without the use of the remote. The back panel has all the connection options you would need, with RCA composite jacks, component jacks (Y,Pb,Pr), and an S-video connection.

What is the purpose of the 1GB USB memory stick?
Since the Viewsat Ultra has a USB port on it, we include a 1GB memory stick to make the firmware and channel list upgrades much easier. We have received feedback from owners of older models that do not have USB that it can be frustrating having to disconnect the receiver from the entertainment center and TV and then bring the receiver to the computer room for an upgrade. Now you save the FTA bin file onto the memory stick and then plug it into the receiver. It's a simple process in the onscreen menu to upgrade from USB memory stick. Now you can leave your receiver connected to your TV fulltime.
