What is the purpose of the 1GB USB memory stick?
Since the Sonicview Sv-4000 has a USB port on it, we recommend that you purchase the 1GB memory stick to make the firmware and channel list upgrades much easier. We have received feedback from owners of older models that do not have USB that it can be frustrating having to disconnect the receiver from the entertainment center and TV and then bring the receiver to the computer room for an upgrade. Now you save the FTA bin file onto the memory stick and then plug it into the receiver. It's a simple process in the onscreen menu to upgrade from USB memory stick. Now you can leave your receiver connected to your TV fulltime.

PVR / DVR Hard Drive Upgrade for FTA Receivers

Most free to air receivers have an option that allows you to record by adding an external PVR / DVR hard drive. It connects through the USB port on the receiver.
