Provides digital free to air satellite reception for the USA, Canadian, and Caribbean markets with the ability to add any size USB 2.0 external hard drive up to 750GB for pausing live TV or recording your favorite shows.

This is Coolsat's New PVR model with features including, component video output, hardware based blindscan (smart search), redesigned universal remote, Conexant main processor running at a 160 MHz as well as 1024MB of SDRAM. It also includes a USB flash drive port for software and channel database upgrading.

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION TIP

All free to air satellite receivers come with a basic 4x1 diseqc switch either supplied for free by the product manufacture or added to the order by GOsatellite. The disecq switch is a necessary part of a free to air installation if the satellite dish you are connecting to has 2, 3, or 4 LNB’s. The unfortunate problem is the cheap quality of the free diseqc switch that’s included with most FTA receivers. The life expectancy of the free disecq switch is typically less than 1 year.

If you can stretch your budget by $15 we highly recommend that you include the heavy duty Chieta 4x1 diseqc switch. The Chieta is the best switch on the market with a low insertion loss of only 1.5db which will offer better signal and picture quality (basic switches are 6db of signal loss!) The Chieta is nickel metal cast plated, designed for indoor or outdoor installation and will combine 4 satellites to one digital FTA receiver. Long-term is make sense to spend a few extra dollars more now to have a completely functional FTA satellite system for years to come. All professional installers swear by the quality and performance of the Chieta switch. For them it's simple, go to a customers house, do the installation, and they will not have to worry again about a failing switch or loss of signal or picture quality. Do the install right the first time and do it once.

Way to go CoolSatUSA/Freetech group. this is all it is talked up to be by far, and I'm not what you might call a want to be but I'm more in the old head part so yes I've tried quite a few and yes I with stood coolsats unfavored announcement of the 3 non support boxes I have 3 of the filess 5K's and it hurts but im in it for the long haul and the 7100pvr is the box to have . Go with the info and y ou will be a happy tver.
