The disecq switch is a necessary part of a free to air installation if the satellite dish you are connecting to has 2, 3, or 4 LNB’s. The unfortunate problem is the cheap quality of the free diseqc switch that’s included with most FTA receivers. The life expectancy of the free disecq switch is typically less than 1 year. See connection diagram below and the benefits of a high quality switch. If you can stretch your budget by $15 we highly recommend that you include the heavy duty Chieta 4x1 diseqc switch. The Chieta is the best switch on the market with a low insertion loss of only 1.5db which will offer better signal and picture quality (basic switches are 6db of signal loss!)
