IMPORTANT INSTALLATION TIP

All free to air satellite receivers come with a basic 4x1 diseqc switch either supplied for free by the product manufacture or added to the order by GOsatellite. The disecq switch is a necessary part of a free to air installation if the satellite dish you are connecting to has 2, 3, or 4 LNB’s. The unfortunate problem is the cheap quality of the free diseqc switch that’s included with most FTA receivers. The life expectancy of the free disecq switch is typically less than 1 year.

If you can stretch your budget by $15 we highly recommend that you include the heavy duty Chieta 4x1 diseqc switch. The Chieta is the best switch on the market with a low insertion loss of only 1.5db which will offer better signal and picture quality (basic switches are 6db of signal loss!) The Chieta is nickel metal cast plated, designed for indoor or outdoor installation and will combine 4 satellites to one digital FTA receiver. Long-term is make sense to spend a few extra dollars more now to have a completely functional FTA satellite system for years to come. All professional installers swear by the quality and performance of the Chieta switch. For them it's simple, go to a customers house, do the installation, and they will not have to worry again about a failing switch or loss of signal or picture quality. Do the install right the first time and do it once.

Interesting Facts You Should Know About

What is blind scan or smart search?
This is common feature available in most FTA receivers. It is either a software based blind scan or the faster hardware based blind scan. It's purpose is to find channels on a particular satellite with out any scanninig rules. It "blindly" scans every possible horizontal and verticle satellite frequency and symbol rate. What this means is you get more channels and will not have to depend on channel lists from others.
