The Viewsat Ultra Lite replaces the Viewsat VS2000 Lite model. The Ultra Lite comes with all the features of the Viewsat Ultra, but smaller in size. Why should I get a motorized satellite package?
If you're new to free to air satellite it makes sense to get a motorized FTA satellite system because then you can move your dish to whatever satellite you choose. If you had a stationary dish you can only receive channels from that one satellite it is pointed at. There are over 30 popular satellites available in North America. If you have a dish with a motor attached you have the flexibility to get maximum free TV and radio channels.

What is the purpose of the 1GB USB memory stick?
Since the Viewsat Ultra has a USB port on it, it makes firmware and channel list upgrades much easier. We have received feedback from owners of older models that do not have USB that it can be frustrating having to disconnect the receiver from the entertainment center and TV and then bring the receiver to the computer room for an upgrade. Now you save the FTA bin file onto the memory stick and then plug it into the receiver. It's a simple process in the onscreen menu to upgrade from USB memory stick. Now you can leave your receiver connected to your TV fulltime.

How is the dish motor powered?
The dish motor is an incredible piece of electronics that is weather proof and powered by the satellite cable, also known as RG6. When you are setting up your FTA system you have one satellite cable from the LNB to the motor and out of the motor into the house and then into the receiver. Since the receiver is AC powered, there is enough current running through the cable to power the motor. This gives you a simple and clean install.
